Streams in the Desert is a U.S.-based non-profit organization (501©3) established to support The Telemedicine Center of Haiti, with a mission to alleviate the suffering of the poor and underprivileged by advancing healthcare and related careers. The organization was inspired by Dr. Prosper, who, despite his American education, now dedicates his life to serving others in Haiti without seeking personal gain. Contributions to Streams in the Desert help sustain a well-established, professional, innovative, and dedicated program.

Haiti's healthcare system faces significant challenges, including a shortage of doctors and limited medical infrastructure, especially in rural areas.

WHY HAITI?

The Telemedicine Center of Haiti operates as a mobile hospital, providing critical medical services to remote communities that cannot easily access traditional medical facilities.

Many Haitians who can afford it go to private clinics for medical care, leaving those who cannot afford treatment often untreated.

The Telemedicine Center of Haiti is a unique program in the country, offering medical services to patients regardless of their ability to pay, while also facilitating training for healthcare professionals and remote consultations with specialists from other countries.
